Your Committee is committed to provide appropriate support wherever and whenever we can. We do have a team of Support Officers who will be happy to discuss matters, both financial, and non financial, on a confidential basis. Please see our Committee page for their contact details or visit our Contact Us page.
In addition, we shall also be pleased to try and arrange lifts to events. As a consequence, we shall be similarly delighted to receive offers of transport to support this!
As a retired Barclays employee, the Bank Workers Charity can provide support for yours and your family’s wellbeing. They do this by providing information, guidance and financial assistance, including general grants, as well as specific Christmas grants (dependent on successful applications).
However, there are now additional support services available. BWC partners with many charities to offer a wide range of support services, including Mind, Relate, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Cruse Bereavement Care and Anxiety UK. BWC has special relationships with these partners which means support can be offered more quickly than if individual charities were approached directly. BWC would also fund any support or services required.
The type of support BWC offers includes:
- Help with issues around caring for someone
- Help in managing stress, isolation and depression
- Assistance in accessing welfare benefits
- Help with financial problems
- Bereavement support
- Assistance in accessing counselling services.
In addition to this range of support, BWC can also provide one-off grants for a range of things including:
- boilers
- mobility aids and equipment
- home adaptations
- bereavement support
- funeral expenses
- respite care
- costs associated with moving from home to a care home, such as transport, post hospital treatment, and the cost of moving
